Ty has competed in the NCFCA since the 2022-2023 season. In the two years he has debated, Ty has done both Team Policy and Lincoln Douglas debate formats, and he will be competing in moot court in the 24-25 season. In the 2023-2024 competition season in which Ty exclusively did LD, he placed 4th and 2nd at the two qualifiers he attended, in addition to winning the Region 9 championship in LD. At nationals, he advanced to double octafinals, placing 23rd overall.
